Yellow False Indigo - Baptisia tinctoria
 
- This herbaceous perennial grows to 4' with a many branched and rounded growth habit.  
- The pea-like yellow flowers are held above the foliage on elongated flower spikes.
- Like other False Indigos, the root system is deep and extensive leaving it very difficult to transplant.
- Great plant for naturalizing in a meadow but tame enough for the garden.
