White False Indigo - Baptisia alba
 
- Small white pea-like flowers held above the foliage.
- Blooms April to May.
- Looks great naturalized among native grasses and other forbes.
- Deep and extensive root system once established. Difficult to move.
- The dried seed pods when left on the plant add ornamental interest.  
- Host plant for several species of butterflies.
