American Germander - Teucrium canadense

Teucrium canadense, commonly known as American Germander, is a native perennial herbaceous plant known for its upright growth habit and attractive spikes of lavender to purple flowers. It thrives in moist to wet soils and is often found in meadows, stream banks, and wetland edges throughout eastern North America. American Germander blooms from late spring to early summer, attracting pollinators such as bees and butterflies with its nectar-rich flowers. Growing up to 3 feet tall, it features lance-shaped leaves with serrated edges and forms dense clumps. This plant is ideal for rain gardens, butterfly gardens, and native plant landscapes, where it enhances biodiversity and provides food and habitat for wildlife.
