Heath Aster 'Snow Flurry' - Symphyotrichum ericoides

-

Heath Aster, or Symphyotrichum ericoides, is a low-growing native plant commonly found along roadsides and in open fields. The plant prefers moist to dry soils and will tolerate periods of drought once established. Heath Aster blooms in the fall, providing a valuable late-season nectar source to bees and butterflies. When blooming, Heath Aster is covered profusely with small white flowers with yellow centers. An easy and carefree plant that makes an attractive border or groundcover. Also, it can be planted in naturalized settings. Plant alongside cone flowers, coreopsis, and narrowleaf ironweed.
