Brown-Eyed Susan - Rudbeckia triloba

-

Rudbeckia triloba, common name Brown-Eyed Susan, is a short lived perennial that is easily grown in average, moist, well-drained soils in full sun. Brown-Eyed Susan tolerates heat, some drought and will tolerate a wide range of soils. This plant will freely self-seed and usually persist in a garden from year to year. Brown-Eyed Susan is a densely branched plant that grows 3-4′ tall featuring 6-12 yellow rays and brown-purple disks, blooming profusely. They have smaller flowers than Black-Eyed Susan but many more flowers. It’s best to allow this plant to naturalize in a garden or field. A pollinator favorite!
