American Beautyberry - Callicarpa americana

Callicarpa americana, commonly called Beautyberry, prefers an average, moist soil and will fruit best if planted in full sun. Beautyberry is a large open shrub that is used ornamentally for its clusters of vibrant violet berries. The fruit remains attractive through much of the fall, but is readily consumed by birds. Because of its size, 4-6′, Beautyberry is best used in the rear of a border or massed together for an impressive display of color.
