About the event
In this class, Robin Whitfield combines her love of ecology, native plants, creativity, and 30 years of teaching with watercolor painting! She will demonstrate watercolor methods and techniques with hand-cut stencils traced into wet paint as compositional elements into layers of bold color. Stencils include: hummingbird, cardinal, indigo bunting, tufted titmouse, swallowtail butterfly, monarch, milkweed, and a variety of native flowers and foliage.
This short class will encourage participants to be playful and creative with multiple small compositions over the course of the class. Watercolor with it's bright, fresh colors, unexpected bleeds, and fast drying time are a perfect way to explore the rich textures and color combinations of the garden!
